Garmin Backpack Tether Accessory for Garmin Devices, Black
- This is a good backpack tether however it is not compatible with the Garmin mini inreach2 without another adapter that you have to purchase for another $23.00.Would not have been a a problem...however this is not communicated to you when you purchase it... in fact they are selling this tether along with the mini as if they are compatible. Just be aware you need to buy another adapter for it to work. The string/lanyard is very cheap and hangs up on the Velcro annoying for sure...as mentioned in other reviews
- This clip is a super secure (maybe too secure?) way to attach your compatible GPS Map 66 series GPS to your day or backpack. I attach mine high on the shoulder strap, top of chest/shoulder height. The GPS is out of the way up there and has good exposure to the sky. There is a video online indicating the clip does not engage securely. This video is incorrect. Push till it clicks and it’s not coming out until you take it out. I’m confused about the function of the cord/tether. It came balled up in the hook and loop and ended frayed and shaggy by the time I got it all untangled. Now it looks crappy and not sure the point. Is it supposed to connect to the GPS somehow? No instructions were provided.
- Bought Amazon bundle including inReach Mini2, hardcase, and this backpack tether. Annoyed that I also require another part to actually use the tether. Also agree w/other reviews that the cord is cheap and annoying; will replace w/high-quality cord that doesn\'t get hung up on velcro.
- Gives a positive click when the gps is inserted. The Velcro is very strong. Works well for my purposes: hiking while keeping the gps out of the bag for quick access.
- I have no idea where some of these prior negative reviews are coming from. This thing is great. The velcro is super strong and yes, over time I am sure it will start to have less of a grip, but hey, that\'s velcro! If you take it on and off that much and use it that much, just buy another one once you wear out the velcro. Duh. The velcro straps that go around a day pack strap are long enough to go all the way around and get a full strip of velcro so there is no risk of it falling off. The only thing I did not like is that on my daypack this makes my GPS unit sit really high, so if I look to my right and down, my chin touches the unit. Also, I noticed that if I am geocaching and looking around in rocks I need to be very careful about getting down flat because the unit can hit the rocks. Other than that, this attachment device is great! The lanyard is not of \"poor\" material and actually seems to be pretty good. Yes, it would be better to replace the lanyard with 550 paracord material, but again...you could do that. I will probably do that once their lanyard wears out or worries me at all. Also, there were some reviews about not being able to remove the clip easily...not the case....super easy, no issues, and once it is back on you get an audible click and it is solidly in place. To remove you simply pull up the bottom and it releases the attachment and comes right off. Overall, I would purchase this again for sure.
- The media could not be loaded. This is a must have if you don\'t want to lose your device and want secure easy access.
- Fits securely.
- Fits tightly to my pack pack strap and allows easy access but never feels likely to accidentally detach from the velcro pad
