Garmin Colorado Series Marine Mount

  • Works perfectly with the GPSMAP 79SC. Couldn\'t find anything that said they were compatible so I took a chance.
  • I use my eTrex 30 on my pontoon boat here in Florida when roaming around lake Tsala Apoka and I got tired of not having a specific place or spot for this GPS unit. I knew that I needed a holder of some type but didn\'t want a beanbag or windshield mount or similar bracket. While doing some research on Amazon I noticed this one but it didn\'t specifically mention the newest eTrex 30 and seemed to be for the Colorado series. After reviewing the Garmin website, they clearly noted that this unit would fit many of their handhelds including most eTrex units. I totally agree with Garmin as this mount is great. It\'s strong and the GPS is locked in place until you push a lever to unlock it. There are multiple adjustments for angle and rotation and they can be locked in place by tightening the hand screws.I mounted it to the fiberglass dash using 3M 20 lb doublesided tape and believe me, it will be on that dash forever.I like this holder. It\'s small, strong, adjustable and the usb port is still available once mounted. All in all, I\'m pleased and figure that I got good value. It\'s less than $20 and works better than I expected!
  • I was looking for a way to mount my Oregon GPS to the dash of my truck while out Geocaching, I also wanted a permanent mount, this mount fit the bill. The mating area on the back of the mount were it connects with the GPS is somewhat tight, but I believe this is the way it was designed, being a marine mount. For my needs I wanted the GPS to be easily removed, so I took 2 small sized flat files, a course and a fine file, then removed small amounts of material from the slide area of the mount until the two mated smoothly. Now while Geocaching jumping in and out of my vehicle, i can dismount the unit with ease. Even thou the GPS now slides easy in and out it will still not fall out of the mount on its own, there is a catch at the bottom of the mount that prevents this from happening. I choose this mount because I wasn\'t planing to hook the unit up to a power cable, I run the GPS from the batteries in the unit. If you need power from your car battery then check out the other mounts available, or buy the auto power cable for your GPS.
  • I bought this for my Oregon 400t. I\'ve used it on several fishing trips. The mount is small and compact. The unit connects easily and disconnects easily. It is a super mount. Holds the unit securely. I put the unit on and take it off with absolutely no issues. I\'d highly recommend this mount for Garmin GPS units it is intended for. The unit clicks in securely and locks in. To remove the unit from the mount you just have to hold in the lever on the back and slide the unit up to detach. The unit attaches and detaches very easily. You can rotate it and then tighten it down. You can also adjust the pitch angle to your desired viewing angle. Great product for my Oregon 400t when I use it with lake maps in my fishing boat. Combine this mount with LakeMaster Lake Maps and the Garmin Vehicle power cable, which I plug into auxilary power plug in my boat, and they turn my Oregon 400t into a great GPS uinit for my fishing boat.
  • Nice range of motion to get just the right viewing position. It is easy to mount and remove the Colorado GPS which feels very secure when it is in position. I agree with others that a good piece of weather proof heavy duty double faced mounting tape would have been nice. I ended up buying a whole roll of the pricey weather proof, double faced tape just to use a couple of inches of tape. I did not want to screw this into the dash on my brand new boat.
  • This is the same mount Garmin sells in the inReach mini marine kit. Works great affixed to my dashboard with Gorilla Glue double sided tape. It keeps my Garmin inReach mini unit in view of its satellites and easily accessible from the driver\'s seat for SOS - and yes, I\'ve needed it. I like that I can easily unscrew the mount from its base, and lock it and the inReach away in my glove compartment when I\'ve returned to civilization.
  • Paid a premium price and the product data says mount with 2 sided tape or screw in but it comes with none of the mounting hardware so I have to go buy it myself. $26 and they can\'t include some screws or bolts nuts, washers and 2 sided sticky tape? What a rip.
