- It works great. It’s stable is firmly attached. The only problem that I have is that I don’t want to look away from the road to see my map. I would rather have my GPS higher up to eye level.
- Fit my cupholder well. Top adjustment tends to loosen with jouncing of the car, but overall works well. Much better than gluing a base to my new car, or having the suction let go of other models.
- Sturdy and stable as installed in my 2008 Scion xB. Easy to adjust to my liking.
- The height is fabulous. The problem is even when it is adjusted it shakes a bit while driving. It doesn\'t lock into place and not move. It tries to tip. I had to stuff in rags to keep it from moving while driving,It is possible that the cup holder I have was a size that was difficult to navigate, however according to the instructions it should fit and not be top heavy, which was the problem.
- This cup mount holder purchase was an attempt to get a 7\" Garmin GPS off the dashboard.First the bad: Yes, I could give this a one-star review because it won\'t work for my Chevvy Silverado application, but that is not a fair assessment of the product. The Siverado cup holders measure a full 3.5\". The 4 mount pads on the GPS cup mount are approximately 2.75\". When twisting the locking mechanism, there is very minimal movement. Even with a soda can foam insulator, the mount was too loose. There is a rectangular recess in the dash that the devise would fit into, but there was not enough adjustment to secure it.Now the good: This is a well made cup holder device for a GPS if your cup holders are 2.75\". The finish is good as are the articulating adjustments. To describe the dimensions, the device twist locking mechanism extends from the cup holder 1\", the arm is 5.5\" center to center on the hinge pins, and the arm portion with the ball is 2\". So in the vertical position, it is 8.5\" from the top of the console cup holder to the center of the ball. For my application and had I been able to secure the arm, the main beam could have been 11\". Others have also alluded that the arm could be longer. One other note: the two arms will articulate, but not swivel. Loosening the cup mount and twisting it is the only means of swiveling.I trust this will help those of you that can use this. Currently we have the flexible dash pad that works. It is a carry-over from the smaller Garmin. Still looking to get it off the dash. No CD player, so that mount is out, AC vent mounts are marginal, and the dash is not smooth enough for a suction mount. Windshield suction mount obstructs the windshield. Trying to stay in the good graces of the people that keep us safe.
- It works as described but...Made from a light weight plastic which appears to be not so sturdy so you must be careful when adjusting it or you will break it.It does fit the cup holders in my 2017 Subaru Outback but with the fitment extensed to its fullest capacity and its a sturdy fit so far.However, it may come loose in a panic stop or in the event of a collision.The height was a worry for me as it sits below the stereo and A/C controls but it actually works. It has no issues picking up the satellite and keeping track of your location with my Garmin Nuvies - I have two a BIG one (7 inches) and a small one at 3 inches.Hinges are made of plastic as are the tension adjusting knobs so care must be taken when adjusting and tightening them or you will break it as noted earlier.I would like to see this design made from light weight aluminum or something of that nature but then the cost would go way up.
- For the most part, this cup mount does a nice job and is much more reliable than the suction cup mount. The only challenge I have is that it’s hard to turn the adjustment ring to expand the sides to fit the cup holder when the mount is sitting down in the cup holder. You have to get it adjusted just right before putting it in and pushing it down into the cup holder.
- The sloped dashboard on my Corvette will not allow me to use a beanbag mount, and I have had terrible experiences with suction cup-based mounts. While the base of this is a little large for my cup holders, I was able to make it work.
