• The item is fine. Typical good quality that Ram always provides. Problem is the threaded portion barely engages with the Yamaha mount. The mount is recessed to the point that the threads barely grabs. It\'s too short. Look for a longer threaded ball mount. I found one here on Amazon.
• Works well and allows me to attach my insta360 selfie stick to the RAM ball clamp
• I have been using RAM Mounts for over ten years and there is no better or more versatile products for mounting any accessory to a dashboard. I recently mounted a VASCAR, speed measuring device, to my dash. The adjustable and strong, articulating arm, has endless adjustments. I have a portable, suction mount, for a GPS for rental cars, when traveling; most suction mounts do not hold. The RAM one holds better and longer than any other ones that I have used.
• Ram Mounts are good. I\'ve been using the 1-inch balls and corresponding parts for 3 years daily as a dashboard camera system as well as part of some other photography/video based rigs.If you\'re new to RAM and looking to build a camera system and you haven\'t already purchased the prepackaged ones available by simply typing \"RAM mount camera\", congratulations on your perception. Purchasing the parts individually has some advantages, namely customization, but also have some disadvantages (sometimes the price changes so one option is a couple dollars more or less and sometimes the individual packages may or may not include screws needed to complete suction cup base installation). You may also notice the balls come in varying sizes. I will discuss 1-inch ones here.If you plan on connecting a RAM to a camera using the normal 1/4-20 spec slots (aka tripod screw on the bottom of your camera), you have 4 balls to choose from (though my photo only shows 3 of them). 3 have varying plate sizes and one of them has no plate at all. It depends on your camera which one is best and doesn\'t obstruct necessary camera functions such as power supply, battery, rotating LCD screens, memory card slot, etc.The hex shape on this ball appears to be exclusive to this one in particular and it would be beneficial to have the ability to install/remove the ball to a camera using a hex key/pliers since all the other bases are round, although whether your needs and camera can withstand torquing the ball into the tripod hole is another story. Of course if you\'re building something else, once more the hex shape can aid in installation/removal.The real reason for this review is the stud length which many fellow reviewers state but there are a disappointing amount of photos actually showing the stud length and AMZ\'s new review rules require a review before being able to post a photo which all the more slows the production of photo uploading for customers to seek useful insight but yes, the stud length is much shorter than the photo shows.I would give more stars on this product for having delivered in all other areas, and especially in patriotism for RAM having their manufacturing here in the USA as it\'s a rare sight, but misleading images are against my code, and 3/5 it is for now until it has been remedied.

• This item would be perfect except for the fact that the theaded part of the ball bottoms out in the camera before the flange touches. A rubber washer fixed this issue though and after installing the washer the mount is solid.
• Great fit, solid integration. Not lose, no wobble. I did add a nylon washer between the compass and ball mount helps with dampening vibrations. works great for my need. hope this helps yall.
