- I installed this under the center dash speaker in my 2016 Explorer when I upgraded from SYNC 2 to SYNC 3. Bought the SYNC 3 module from a small Michigan based company, they pulled it from a 2017 Ford Edge, it was compatible with my vehicle, they pre-programmed with my VIN. I wanted Navigation, so it required a separate GPS to plug into the computer. This installed well, be careful removing any trim if you are using it for this application. I would buy this again if I was doing any other module upgrades in future vehicles.
- Regardless of what people say about this unit, it does not work correctly with sync 3 upgrades. It will throw a navigation fault error and work intermittently.The Nav-Upgrade site copies this picture and they link this unit as the correct unit around the web. - This solved my error message I have in my Ford Raptor sync 2 to sync 3 swap. Was also to now have the correct time and GPS. The kit I had GPS just stopped working and this was a perfect fix. Worked instantly.If you’re having this issues this should solve it.
- I upgraded to a sync 3 system in my 2013 Ford Flex and the clock was displaying incorrectly and could not be changed (it would just reset to the incorrect time when I tried to adjust hour/minutes). I attached this GPS to the back of the unit and within a few minutes of starting up the vehicle I was able to reset the clock to GPS time and it showed correctly. I can also now manually adjust clock if needed. Highly recommended!
- I used this antenna for the Sync 2 -> Sync 3 upgrade in my Fiesta ST. After trying another antenna that gave a Navigation Fault every time I started the car, I swapped to this one and I\'ve got no further issues.The rotating wire connection at the back of the blue Fakra connector is a nice touch, as it allowed me to nicely route the wire over the obstacles in my dash.
