Dymoece Out Front Bike Computer Combo Mount for Garmin Edge 130 200 500 510 520 800 810 820 1000 1030 Touring
- Got this is use with an edge 1030 plus as my k edge wasn\'t fitting the unit well. Good news: it fits the 1030 size perfectly with room to hit the lap/start buttons. The mount is great if you\'re running a -17 stem, which will essentially mount it flat on most bikes. If you mount it on the bottom bolts, it sits flush within the stem profile and looks great. If you\'re running anything else, it will stick up at an awkward angle and not look great. Even my -10 deg stem made the screen hard to read and made it stick up. My main complaint about it is that they made it impossible to remove the go pro mount. It is removeable, but to hold the garmin tab in, you have to use the go pro mount to thread the bolt. This is somewhat infuriating because the actually threaded the horizontal holes, but not the correct ones (vertical), so you could have your garmin on sideways without the go pro, but not the correct way. I decided to just get a mount for my light off aliexpress that\'s compatible with the gopro interface, but I really wish you could take the whole piece off for racing.
- Fairly easy to install. Works well on road bike. I don’t think it’s a good idea for off road
- This was very easy to attach and it holds my Garmin well. I like it much better than the handlebar mount I had before.
- I initially bought a similar, but less expensive model on Amazon. I couldn\'t torque the bolts down to the required spec to keep my bars from slipping. The spacers on the other model ended up mushrooming and eventually the mount broke.I was able to get this one to tighten down closer to spec. I still have a bit of concern about the spacers mushrooming so I didn\'t go all the way. I wish the spacers were a bit more robust to give me some more confidence.
- FIRST: My ratings:, If only this mount would have fit my stem correctly, it may have been 5 stars IE: with some very slight design modifications. I wish I could given higher scores, from the onset, but it would not fit my STEM.I liked the general premise of this computer mount, however it needs some simple design modifications. If you have a FSA \"SLK Stem\"... This \"Dymoece Out Front Bike Computer Combo Mount\" may not \"Bolt Up\" or fasten \"soundly\" as currently designed. IE: with the length of it\'s elongated slot, as It may not adjoin correctly to\" the stem, even with this mount\'s Elongated Fastening Slot. 2 fastening \"socket head cap screws\" simply would not bolt to my FSA\'s stems hole spread/pattern. It may fasten to another brand of bicycle stem, however it would not fit my stem. For a FSA Stem, the slot will need an adjustment of .062 - .093 (1/16\" - 3/32\") of elongation. The quality or assured fastening should be done (as std. procedure) in a \"Compressive Loading\". \"Clamping mode, vs, \"Side Loading\" fastening\" as it is with this mount, is not commonly reccomended. Especially with the weight of a Garmin 1000 biking computer. The concern is...IE: Traveling 15 - 20 MPH ... encountering a \"pot hole\" and or a sudden impact may be enough to disengage or literlly \"Strip\" the aluminum material fastening threaded holes, IE: depending on the amount of screw engagement. The concern is not so much the weight of the mount, but because of the weight of the Garmin Edge 1000 computer. As it is with the fastening, or because minium of compressive of clamping surfaces. Unfortunately, this mount(s) and it\'s radial position to the effects of gravity plus the weight of the computer is then impacted by the phenomena of side loading and sufficient fastening. Also the \"side loading\" or the fastening of the mount is problematic in it\'s current geometrical configuration. Adding 4 standoffs... \"partruding male bosses\" snuggly fitting into the \"all common depths of the stems \"Clamp\" and its 4 counterbores.. These minor amendments will reduce most side loading to the mount & ensure sufficient mount and handlebar retainment.
- Instead of using two different mints, I can mount my GoPro and Computer on the same fixture. I like how it’s sturdy and lightweight, and the minimal shaking allows for another video motion. Glad I bought this dual purpose mount instead of the $30 mount GoPro makes.
- I use this mount a Garmin 1030 plus on my road bike. Places the Garmin between and slightly above my areo bars.
- I moved from the offset bar clamp out front style to this center/ stem cap mounted style. I like this better. Looks better and works better- leaves the bar clean.Remember this angle is not adjustable, it will be an extension of your stem angle.4 because the swivel clamp for the computer is a little too snug but fine and no lock tight on the the threads. Otherwise a 5.
