Garmin 010-12530-00 Low-Profile Magnetic Cameras Mount

  • First let me say that I am satisfied with the mount overall. It does what I need it to do, which is hold my Dash Cam to the windshield. It isn\'t rocket science. However, a little forethought would have avoided a stressful installation and earned 5 stars. You see, I had to replace a mount that had cracked where the magnet is glued into the mount. Basically, it fell apart. So I bought the new mount with the intent of just inserting it into the camera and putting it back into service. Unfortunately, the mount arrived with steel mounting disc already attached to the magnet. Now I could have simply removed the old mounting disc from the windshield and moved on, but that would require cleaning adhesive off the tinted glass before reinstalling the new one. I chose to separate the disc from the magnet. That\'s where the stress comes from. Basically, you have to insert a sharp object into the gap around the disc and pry it away from the magnet. This puts pressure on the plastic that was cracked on the old mount and could potentially crack the new one. I was careful though and did not damage the new mount while doing this. Once removed, everything went well.In summary, it would have been a lot easier if the disc were packaged separately from the magnet, or if something were inserted between the two, like a plastic pull tab, prior packaging. That way you don\'t have to risk damage or personal injury while trying to pry them apart. Isn\'t one more star worth that?
  • I have a garmin dash cam already that uses this style of mount. While trying to remove the magnet from my windshield the adhesive was so strong that I had to pry like heck to get it to come off. When it did finally come off it went flying and stuck to something somewhere in my truck. I don’t know why but you can’t just buy the magnet. But this is the best type of mount IMO.
  • I just needed the magnet but was forced to buy a whole new mount after changing cars. The adhesive works so good that once you remove it it rips and the magnet is unusable. Garmin or a third party should just sell the magnet
  • As others have noted -- and despite what Garmin says -- this DOES fit the Garmin Mini 2 (which does not come with a magnetic mount). The magnetic mount makes the Mini 2 take up a bit more room than the standard mount, so space behind my mirror was a bit tighter than I had anticipated. But, my gosh, it is so easy to take the camera off the windshield, play with the memory card or whatever, and then replace it without having to pop in that tight ball-and-socket or re-aim the camera.It\'s a crime that this is not included with the Mini 2.
  • They hold great forget getting them off window shield bad they don’t have just pcs for window shield
  • Exactly what it said and it fit.
  • I would have preferred for the steel metallic install pieces to be easier to find so I wouldn\'t have to buy a whole new post, but the adhesive they paste on here is awesome. One of the only dash cam systems I\'ve ever used that didn\'t pop off the windshield in the summer months.
