Garmin Bike mount, quick release, quarter turn, Black
- It is what it is but definitely not worth $10
- Some reviewers worry the o-rings will fail and their costly Edge or Varia radar / taillight will end up in the road. Garmin stuff is generally well built and I have some confidence they\'ve designed this right. I\'ve not had enough experience to tell but replacement o-rings are inexpensive. And the attachment is pretty easy to use in a variety of locations (bars, rear bags). Cheaper than many alternatives and good if you have multiple bikes. Still, for my Garmin Edge I like the out front bar attachment that comes with it.
- It\'s not entirely clear from the listing, but this will let you have two bikes ready to go - there are two quarter turn parts, and four big o rings and four little o rings. It holds my Edge reliably over a variety of surfaces.
- I share my Garmin Edge across 2 different bikes - well, now three bikes thanks to this mounting kit. When I setup my new bike I ordered these so I could mount the head unit on my 3rd bike. They work great and installation is easy. I\'ve logged thousands of miles with there mounting platforms and the Garmin never budges - very sturdy.
- The handlebars on my bike are slightly tapered so the bolt-on bracket that shipped with my bike computer doesn\'t hold it stable and, after a few road bumps, it slips and turns to where I cannot see the display. This mount uses 2 silicon bands to secure the mount. Either one holds the mount tightly enough that it doesn\'t slip. Because there are 2 of them, it is very unlikely that the failure of 1 will lead to the failure of the other.
- Pleasantly surprised that 2 mounts came in the package. Genuine Garmin product. Holds my Edge cyclocomputer securely. I have used this type of mount for years. Needed an extra one for another bike (tired of transferring the mount back and forth). Highly recommend if you like this style of mount.
- I like how easy it is to install. However, the mount tends to move slowly and drifts out of position during long mountain bike rides. It is not that annoying I\'m going to stop using it, but I notice I have to move my Garmin 510 back into position at the end of each ride, or on long rides mid way through the ride. This is acceptable given the price point of this unit. On my other bikes I have \"out-in-front\" mounts that I like better, but my current bike has brake lines that interfere, and thus I need to use an on handlebar mount for my computer. I also don\'t fully trust the industrial rubber bands. So each time I put my Garmin in the mount, I still loop the lanyard from the computer around the handlebar, so then I have belt-and-suspenders backup in case the mount failed or the rubber bands came off.
