  • This motorcycle phone mount is compatible with and a good alternative to the ubiquitous RAM mounts. It includes an adjustable handlebar clamp, two screw-in ball mounts (RAM standard 1 inch ball size), a straight extension arm and the adjustable phone mount. The anodized aluminum parts blend well with today\'s high-tech motorcycle design. The components have a more refined appearance than equivalent RAM pieces. Although I have not compared weights, this mount seems somewhat lighter and more finely engineered. For example, the extension arm incorporates a spring around the adjusting screw which keeps the two sides parallel when the screw is loosened. This makes adjustments easier by reducing the chance of the extension arm inadvertently slipping off the ball mounts. The phone cradle has a knurled adjustment knob that opens and closes the cradle to accommodate various phone widths. However, the knob lacks a positive locking mechanism increasing the potential for vibration to loosen the mount\'s grip the phone. I use a phone case to keep the mount from scratching my phone, provide vibration isolation and a bit of compression to keep the adjustment knob from loosening. I also used a thin vinyl pad (not included) between the handlebar and handle bar clamp to prevent metal-to-metal contact and provide additional vibration isolation.ProsFinely engineered componentsAnodized aluminum finishCompatible with RAM accessoriesConsMay not stand up to the elements as well as RAM mounts for motorcycles stored outdoorsNo positive locking mechanism on phone mount
  • Just wow. I was instantly taken aback by the incredible build quality of this kit. I am a long time RAM user for all kinds of gadgets in vehicles, ATVs and amateur radio operation conditions. I have used many different RAM brand mounts, arms, balls and sockets, and I have use some clone parts as well with varying levels of success and satisfaction. This kit from FANAUE is on a different plane altogether. As stated, the build quality is just amazing. All of the parts are machined and anodized aluminium or stainless steel. The phone holder comes with the FANAUE shock mount already installed, but the rest of the kit is in pieces that must be assembled. Unlike my experience with other RAM and clone balls, which are cast attached to mounting plates, the balls in this FANAUE kit have threaded studs that attach to the phone mount and bar clamp. I have had an issue with rigidity thus far, but I can see where this could be a point of vibration-induced loosening and may require some loctite. Still, the modularity of the kit and the fact that the ball stud can be attached to various positions on the phone holder is worth the loctite. The bar clamps is strong and tightens up securely. The 3.7\" arm has a spring inside, just like a real RAM mount, and is machined smooth to securely cup the ball mount. I\'ve had other off-brand arms that have a textured ball socket which (a) doesn\'t grip any better than a smooth socket and (b) can cause damage to the ball coating. These FAUAUE arms are the best I\'ve ever used, period. The phone holder fits all of the phones in our household -- OnePlus Nord 10, 7 Pro, and 8T, all in Spigen cases. If you have an unusually thick case then this may not work for you, which would be a shame because you aren\'t going to find a mount of better quality, fit and finish.I am beyond satisfied with the quality of this kit and have already purchased more. It\'s not an inexpensive kit, for sure, but this is most certainly one of those \"you get what you pay for\" situations. You won\'t be disappointed (unless your phone case is too thick).
  • This motorcycle bar phone holder has incredible build quality. It is an anodized matte grey finish. All of the machine work is smooth and precise. This holder uses 1\"/25mm ball and sockets, so it is compatible with RAM attachments. It is very easy to install and use. The handlebar clamp is secure and the twist knob will tighten it to keep it from moving. The arm has a similar knob. The phone holder can be operated with one hand by pulling the adjuster knob out and twisting it. Although the knob is small it can put plenty of pressure on the phone to keep it secure. There are additional threaded holes in the sides of the phone holder and the bar clamp, so that you could attach more ball mounts and accessories. The one limitation this mount has is that it will only work with phones less than a half inch thick total. The phone also needs to have a curved edge so that the fingers on the phone holder can keep the phone from popping out. If your phone has a case, especially a shock absorbing case like adv riders use, this will likely not work for you. If the holder could accomodate thicker phones, or be adjustable for thickness, this would be a five star product. If your phone is thin enough, this holder is worth it for its ease of use and excellent build quality.
