- Received box without the actual swivel assembly and plastic shrouds. However did include an original plastic shroud from whoever bought and returned the item. Ordered replacement. Will update review upon receiving and installing the item.Update 11/8/22: Received replacement in 2 days. Highly recommend watching an install video on youtube, not the one with their QR code though. A little tricky but overall ok install. Doesn’t come with torx tool to remove screws for the temperature sensor. Think they were T15 if I remember correctly. This is different then the pre-refresh it seems so they need update their tools in the package. Recommend threading the screen mount screws through the threads in the swivel mount before installing the screen. This will clean the powder coat out of the threads making it easier to thread the screws in when needed. Too much powder coat on one side of the swivel, had to sand it down to get the swivel assembly into the mounts in the dash. Hopefully the tension holds on the swivel as you’ll have to take the whole thing apart to get to the adjustment bolt. Love the screen on an angle to me though so I do recommend this product.
- Overall usefulness of tilt and pan is great, but fit and finish of this product is not so great.Bracket where it clips to the dashboard does not fit flush and clip keeps popping out.Gave up trying to have the clips stay in.
- Swivel works well, poor fit for the cover piece where it meets the dash. Pretty big gap which is a shame since the rest of the parts are fine.The instructions are not good and the video link they send you to is poor too. Hard to see how parts fit together as they rush through the process.Se of the tools provided are not right either, at least on my 2022 model y. Luckily I had a set of tools handy.Nice to have the swivel but a struggle to install properly, even with my mechanic skills.
- You must have a lot of patience to install this!!!After you install, it will be well worth it!!The kit did not come with a tool so we had to go and buy the tool.
- This was a very straightforward install. I would not call it easy, and the toolkit it shipped with was missing a tool, but I had that already myself so it wasn\'t a big deal. It took me no more than 20 minutes to complete the install.The mount itself is also of great quality, all the heavy duty parts are made of steel, and will easily last a life time. This mount also does not use the leather shroud or collar to hide the mount. It has a plastic collar to cover the mount much like the stock one in my 2022 MY.Now to the swivel and tilt. Well. Frankly. It is amazing! Being able to angle the display just makes it even easier to read, and if you have a passenger who wants to interact with it, they can turn it toward them for easier use too. There is a slight tilt adjustment you can accommodate too.The one thing that I did not realize until after I installed it, and I actually like it, is that the screen sits maybe 1.5\"-2\" lower than the stock one, so it is less visible from outside. This is not something I thought about or cared about, but when I see other stock tesla\'s coming towards me, their display is very obvious through their windshield.
- Bracket is solid, but dash shroud fitment should be better. Lower rear shroud corner was chipped and there is a gap at the top. The gap fill piece is not engineered properly which leaves a gap at the top. Monitor to bracket bolts should align better too.
- Let me start by saying I have been interested in this mod since the first time I saw it. I finally took the plunge and bought the Hansshow unit, they have produced a ton of cool products for Tesla’s and this mount doesn’t disappoint. I’ll have to admit I was a little apprehensive to remove the MCU but mount came with color instructions that were easy to follow and listed all the tools I needed to get the job done.The mount is constructed of anodized aluminum and preassembled. After getting everything mounted and tightening up the bolts that provide resistance there are no shakes or rattles and the trim finish makes it look very clean.The mount drops the screen about 2 inches and allows for side to side swivel. I like to keep the screen angled towards myself, this provides a more driver centeric experience and reminds me of my Honda S2000. Everything is so much easier to reach with accuracy.
